Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

If you have had a traumatic life experience such as abuse, witnessed violence, or had a life threatening physical event, you may have symptoms such as flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilence, negative thoughts or mood disturbances. We are here to help.

Although PTSD is common among veterans of war, anyone can develop this disorder. According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, "PTSD affects 3.6% of the U.S. adult population—about 9 million individuals. About 37% of those diagnosed with PTSD are classified as having severe symptoms. Women are significantly more likely to experience PTSD than men."

You are not alone and you do not have to continue to suffer. Clinicians at Graceful Therapy are trained in methods of therapy that are particularly successful at treating the effects of trauma. We use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Brainspotting, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Therapy techniques and relationship counseling tools.

If you or a loved one is suffering from PTSD, please reach out to schedule an appointment and begin healing today.
