Anxiety

While we all experience natural levels of worry throughout our life, anxiety refers to excessive and/or unrealistic worry that is difficult to control and occurs consistently.  Our goal is to assist you in discovering the root of your anxious thoughts, help you determine the most effective options for treating your symptoms, and to increase your toolbox of coping skills.

Why doesn’t anyone like me? I’m sure I’m the only parent going through this. Everything feels scary and out of control. I am uncomfortable in my own skin.

Sometimes clients seek treatment not realizing what they are experiencing is anxiety.  Children may be having regular anger outbursts, maybe you are feeling restlessness or uncontrolled fear, or perhaps your appetite is greatly impacted.  Your clinician can help you discern what is getting in the way of the life you want and how to silence your anxious mind.

If you are experiencing excessive worry, uncontrolled fear, racing thoughts, panic attacks, difficulty sleeping, restlessness or irritability, we are here to help.

We all experience fear and worry at some point in our lives. Whether you have a fear of spiders or speaking in public, or maybe you worry about paying your bills or a loved one's health, you are not alone. However, sometimes our worry and fear takes control and inhibits your ability to function or partake in every day activities. If this is the case, therapy is a crucial component to finding relief.

According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, "Anxiety disorders are the most common mental health concern in the United States. Over 40 million adults in the U.S. (19.1%) have an anxiety disorder. Meanwhile, approximately 7% of children aged 3-17 experience issues with anxiety each year. Most people develop symptoms before age 21."

At Graceful Therapy we offer individual, couple and family therapy to address symptoms of anxiety. Our clinicians use interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Brainspotting, Art Therapy, Psychoeducation and more to help reduce anxiety and improve mental health. Contact us today to schedule an appointment and begin experiencing relief from your symptoms.
