Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy is an effective and powerful therapeutic approach for individuals, youth, families, and groups. Working with one of our licensed therapists alongside an equine therapy specialist, clients can address a variety of mental health and development needs. Horses have a unique ability to sense emotions and are sensitive to nonverbal communication. They also demand respect and teach us about our own behavior. These sessions provide opportunities to address social skills, communication issues and help clients build healthy, meaningful relationships.
In Sand Tray Therapy, a therapist will guide the client to create a visual representation of their world with the figurines in the sand tray. As they make changes in their sand tray world, clients are often empowered to make similar changes in their real world. This technique is used by our therapists when working with clients of all ages, from 3 to 99.
