Amanda’s Take: “Life is like a rollercoaster, filled with many exciting and yet, sometimes, intense and turbulent ups and downs. We all experience emotional pain at some point, and each of us deserves compassionate support and guidance to explore different ways of healing ourselves. As a former educator, current school social worker, licensed therapist and certified yoga instructor, I believe that humans have an innate need to understand and be understood. Real change begins once that need is fulfilled. Through a variety of therapeutic modalities—including, but not limited to talk, play, creative, expressive, movement and mindfulness therapies—I believe in helping children and adolescents develop and strengthen their personal attributes from a place of kindness, patience, and grace. I would be honored to walk alongside you and your child/adolescent as they too work, to find their way. Healing takes courage; and we all have courage, even if we have to dig a little to find it. I look forward to traveling this journey together.
